About Us

PS85Q is a PreK - 5 elementary school that offers Pre-K for All, general education, special education and gifted and talented classes for your children.   "We’re unique on many levels,” said Principal Ann Gordon-Chang. “We have every type of student in our school.” Our Science Lab and Technology Lab have been upgraded with state of the art equipment. 

Our Science Lab has new technology and a Hydroponics station and our Technology Lab has been outfitted with up to date Macintosh computers.  Every classroom has been outfitted with Lenovo desktop computers for every student and a brand new BenQ Interactive boards for instruction.

Mission Statement

Our mission at Public School 85 Queens is to create a safe, nurturing environment, which fosters academic and social achievement for all students. We acknowledge the diversity of our school community and strive to build an inclusive-curricula aligned with the needs of our students. We strive for excellence as we develop the foundational skills needed to produce well-rounded, life-long learners that aim towards college and career readiness through the collaboration of students, teachers, and families.
